Managing Director/Vice President

£200,000 + to 250,000 euros pa, plus significant bonus, car and benefits.

This formidable corporation manufacture and supply customers with a wide range of high-performance solutions in an evolving and changing marketplace. Growth and investment remain firmly on the agenda and as such, this is an extremely exciting time to be joining the organisation. This is a high impact transformational and change management role and hence we are now looking to appoint a Managing Director/Vice President-Mining to take this business on an exciting and dramatic journey and to transform the business to profitability and to lead best in class mining activities throughout Europe.

Responsibilities:

• This is a substantial leadership role where the incumbent must be able to lead a high-performance turnaround agenda, empowering the management team and driving out waste.

• As Managing Director/Vice President-Mining, you will report to a Divisional President and will be accountable for running a significant and highly critical complex business where you lead the top level strategy and formulate and execute the organisation’s annual operating plan.

• You will have full accountability and will lead all business and operational activities whilst implementing strategic and tactical plans to deliver and exceed business objectives.

• The incumbent will be required to lead the business across four key elements;

1. You will have full accountability for all operational activities including; mining, mine planning, manufacturing, engineering and project execution with a significant on lean methodologies and new products, methods, technologies and processes.

2. To deliver outstanding, intimate and engaging relationships with a significant stakeholder community including municipalities, government bodies, community groups and local authorities etc.

3. To design and implement the strategic plan for the business, reinforcing business development, innovation and forward-looking approach to meet the long-term vision.

4. To deliver a high-performance people engagement culture within a continuous improvement and best practice environment and implement a sophisticated change programme in terms of people, systems and processes, leading edge technology and innovation.

Person

• This substantial role will interest an exceptional senior executive with extensive mining expertise who enjoys a growth environment, substantial autonomy and who has the ability to work in a multinational organisation in a highly visible position within a complex and challenging marketplace.

•You will have substantial expertise within complex mining activities (underground and/or surface) where you will have an outstanding track record in senior operational/general management/MD/business leadership roles and will have the stature and gravitas to a conduct a role of this type.

• As such, your background is likely to have been gained within a best in class mining organisation where you will have an understanding of a range of different mining commodities. Additionally you may have experience working in different countries and cultures.

• Fluent in English and most likely with a Degree in Mining/Geology Engineering, you will have outstanding general management capabilities together with excellent strategic planning and commercial skills.

• Intellectually powerful and action orientated with outstanding managerial and analytical capabilities, you will be the type who can champion change, lead unprecedented business performance improvements and will relish the opportunity to advance your career in a market leading organisation where exceptional career opportunities exist for high class performers.
