They have a clear strategic plan where growth and investment are at the forefront of the agenda and as such, they are looking to appoint an outstanding Senior Vice President – Drilling & Exploration who can shape and deliver transformational change within this progressive organisation.
Responsibilities:
• This is a substantial change management and leadership role where you must be able to create a high performance agenda at a time of major change.
• Based in US West Coast, you will report directly to the Regional President, lead a sizeable team and will operate in a highly visible and autonomous role where you will lead the top level strategy for drilling and exploration activities (albeit, the primary and more critical focus is absolutely biased towards drilling best practice).
• You will have full accountability in this newly created role which combines strategic planning, technical expertise and operational leadership, where there is the absolute necessity to develop a ‘world class’ drilling and exploration function for the business.
• As such, you will lead global drilling and exploration activities to support the growth of the company, focusing on both existing and new assets. This will encompass:
a. A full range of exploration activities including; new fields, new development, geology and potential growth opportunities, exploration plans and resource extraction.
b. A full range of drilling activities to include optimization of drilling best practice, process and continuous improvement initiatives, leading all drilling operations globally whilst ensuring world class safety adherence.
• To implement a sophisticated change programme in terms of systems, processes, people and leading-edge technology and innovation.
• You will drive people engagement, creating a culture of communication and involvement at all levels to ensure a high performing best practice environment.
• To create and develop the ongoing drilling and exploration roadmap for the organization with customers, the supplier base and relevant partners.
Person:
• This unique position demands an exceptional individual who enjoys a growth environment with substantial autonomy and a highly visible role.
• Degree qualified in an appropriate field (petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, geology etc.), your primary expertise will likely to be heavily focused on drilling best practice or alternatively, you may have combined experience of drilling and exploration.
• With a deep understanding of culture change and stakeholder management, your expertise will have been gained within the upstream oil and gas or geothermal sector where you will have had extensive exposure to risk management, safety and environmental compliance.
• Intellectually powerful and action orientated, you will have the passion and charisma to influence those around you and will be distinguished by your ability to achieve major breakthroughs in business performance.
