The Opportunity
We are seeking a world-class VP of Operations – USA to drive operational excellence and lead a portfolio of power plants across the United States. This newly created role offers substantial autonomy, high visibility, and the chance to shape the future of a dynamic and progressive organization.
Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, you will be a key member of the Global Leadership Team, responsible for delivering business results, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational strategy for a diverse portfolio of U.S. power plants.
- This Executive Leadership role is responsible for delivering all required business results for a designated portfolio of the organization’s US portfolio.
- You will lead the operational strategy across a range of US power plants and as such will have full accountability in a role which combines strategic planning, operational leadership and technical expertise, where there is the absolute need to develop the business towards best in class.
- The role is accountable for a number of critical assets ensuring operational excellence, profitability, safety and environmental compliance within the assigned area.
- As such, you will lead operational activities, whilst driving continuous improvement across all sites to meet and exceed production and revenue projections.
- You will drive people’s engagement, creating a culture of communication at all levels to ensure a highly performing and best practice environment and lead significant internal and external stakeholder management activities.
- Ensure operational excellence, profitability, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Own the P&L and execute the annual operating plan.
- Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and people.
- Champion cutting-edge technology and innovation.
- Build and inspire high-performing teams through coaching, training, and engagement.
- Lead stakeholder management across internal and external partners.
The Ideal Candidate
You are a transformational leader with a passion for growth and innovation. You thrive in high-impact environments and bring a track record of delivering breakthrough performance.
- Degree-qualified in engineering (mechanical, chemical, electrical, etc.).
- Your expertise will have been gained within the energy production, power plant, desalination or oil and gas sectors, where you will have most likely worked for a highly regarded best-in-class organization and have outstanding credibility in driving operational excellence and leading complex power plant/operational facilities.
- Proven success in leading large-scale operations within an international framework.
- Deep understanding of cultural change, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence.
- Intellectually powerful and action orientated, you will have the passion and charisma to influence those around you and will be distinguished by your ability to achieve major breakthroughs in business performance.
