Our client is a substantial and highly successful €1bn organisation who operate at the pinnacle of their industry.  A JV organisation, co-founded by two of the most successful and formidable companies within the chemical industry, they manufacture a range of high performance chemical solutions across a diverse range of market sectors.

This is an extremely exciting time to be joining this organisation as growth remains firmly on the agenda.  Past success cannot be relied up and there is a constant need to raise expectations and to drive tangible change within this highly autonomous role.  As such, we are looking to appoint an outstanding CEO to this significant high profile position.

Responsibilities:

  • This is a substantial leadership role where you must be able to create a high performance agenda, empowering the management team and leading transformational business improvements.
  • As CEO, you will operate in a highly autonomous and independent role and will be required to raise the bar, achieve substantial growth and drive the business to maximise it’s true potential.
  • You will have full P&L accountability and will be responsible for running a significant organisation (c $1bn turnover and 1800 people), where you will lead the top level strategy and formulate and execute the organisation’s annual operating plan.
  • To develop and put in place a strategy to achieve revenue and profit growth for the organisation through improvements in market share, profit margin and customer satisfaction without compromising quality.
  • You will lead all business and operational activities whilst implementing strategic and tactical plans to deliver or exceed financial objectives.
  • You will be responsible for the entire organisation including; sales, marketing, business development, manufacturing, EHS, supply chain functions etc. whilst working closely with shareholders and regulators ensuring trust and engagement at all times.
  • You will bring a fresh approach and lead high quality investment initiatives to advance the business ensuring sustainability whilst focusing on the wider direction and growth for the organisation.

Person

  • Fluent in English, the successful candidate will be degree qualified (most likely in Engineering/Manufacturing or possibly Economics, Business or Finance) and you will most likely be currently residing in Hong Kong, mainland Europe, US, Canada, Israel or UK.
  • You will have extensive experience working within an international framework where you will have led a sizeable organisation and will most likely have progressed your career within senior operational roles (or possibly a senior commercial role) prior to moving into CEO/MD/General Management positions. 
  •  With a deep understanding of cultural change and stakeholder management, your expertise will have been gained within several world leading market sectors i.e. fine/bulk chemicals, commodities, fertilizer, pharmaceutical, mining, oil and gas, petroleum sectors etc.
  • You will be intellectually powerful and action orientated and will have the passion and charisma to influence those around you. You will be distinguished by your ability to achieve major breakthroughs in business performance.
